MSG-QGD NPI is not valid as billing
Blue Cross Blue Shield verifies the type of NPI. Type 1 is an NPI that identifies a person. Type 2 is an NPI that identifies a non-person such as a Practice or Facility.
The claim was sent without the Practice information. Blue Cross has the provider listed as part of a group. So they expect the Billing Provider NPI to be a Type 2 NPI.
Check Setup in InterfaceEDI to see if it is using the Group Practice check box in the EDI Receiver to determine if the claim should be sent as a group. If not, then the set up of the
Provider to Insurance combination in Medisoft does not have a legacy Blue Cross Group Number but does have a legacy Blue Cross provider PIN. You can either remove the PIN or put the legacy group number in.
