How to Make EMC Notes

Notes can be entered in 2 different places. One is in the Claim Level the other is

in the Transaction Level. Notes entered in the Claim level apply to all transactions

but are overridden by notes entered in the Transaction level.

 

The following instruction are for the 2300 Loop NTE Segment. The Qualifiers differ from the 2400 NTE segment

To place a note in the Claim Level. (NTE segment in the 2300 loop) Do the following.

Edit the Case in Medisoft,

on the Diagnosis tab, in the EMC/EDI Notes field,

the first character must be @

the following 3 characters can be any of the following,


ADD Additional Information

CER Certificate Narrative

DCP Goals, Rehabilitation Potential, or Discharge Plans

DGN Diagnosis Description

PMT Payment

TPO Third Party Organization Notes


follow this with a space then the note detail.


for example


@ADD THIS IS MY NOTE

@CER THIS IS MY CERTIFICATE NARRATIVE

To place a note on the transaction level. (NTE segment in the 2400 loop) Do the following.

Place a note on the transaction detail line in Transaction Entry.

The note must be an EMC or EDI type.
